2026 Civic Responsibility for Young Leaders

📢 Applications are now open for 2026 Civic Responsibility for Young Leaders (CRFYL)!
✨ Offered by the City of Atlanta’s Department of City Planning through NPU University, this one-week immersive program is designed for rising high school juniors and seniors in Atlanta Public Schools who are ready to lead.
Students will:
🏛️ Shadow City leaders
⚖️ Explore the legislative process
🧠 Develop real solutions to community challenges
🎤 Participate in a mock council meeting Participants earn 35 community service hours and a stipend — while building lifelong civic leadership skills.

Atlanta Neighborhood Watch Training: March 21

🛡️ Citywide Neighborhood Watch Training – March 21
The Atlanta Police Department is hosting a Citywide Neighborhood Watch Training on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Atlanta Public Safety Training Center (1350 Constitution Rd., Atlanta, GA 30316).
This training is ideal for:
  • Neighborhood leaders interested in starting a Watch
  • Existing Watch groups seeking structure and best practices
  • Residents committed to proactive community safety

Participants will learn how to organize effectively, build partnerships with APD, and strengthen neighborhood communication systems.

Camp Best Friends is Atlanta’s long-running summer program, celebrating 45 years of serving youth across the city.
