The W.E.N.D., Inc. General Meeting was held Tuesday, May 6th, in the Community Room of the West End Public Library.  Carl Nes, President, called the meeting to order at 7:08 p.m.  

ROLL CALL   Attendees signed the attendance roster.  Those present at the start of the meeting introduced themselves to the collective body. Board Members present

Vonda Henry – Secretary

Carl Nes talked about Rick and dedicated all meetings this year to his memory.

 Committee Reports 

Tour of homes, Brenda Arrington Chair

Tour was a success. We don’t have the figures available about profit yet will get the information for Joetta.

Beautification, Vonda Henry, Chair

Next month the chair section West End into different areas.  Each committee member will have their own area of responsibility.

Mortgage Fraud, Brent Brewer

Part of mortgage fraud is the increase in property taxes. The city council will meet on the 8^th to approve budget at 7pm.  It would be nice if members of the community attend.

Tax appeal meeting will be held on Thursday at Morehouse Kellgora building rm 212 form 6pm to 8:30pm.

At your appeal you must have comparables to use as example.  If possible, find out which house the appraiser is using as a comparable to your home.

Discussion of how the patrol works. .

 Miscellaneous

Firehouse number 7 is schedule to close, it is the oldest firehouse in Atlanta dating back to 1910.  WEND would like to adopt this firehouse.  Michael will head up a ad hoc committee.

Robert will be the new president of the “Our West End Newsletter”

Urban farm will be located at Atwood and Donelly

Nyesha Cook passed out surveys on what type of business we would like in West End.
