Dealing with Property Taxes in the Historic West End 1 Month, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 1
As many of you know, I'm a Realtor and I have a few clients in Glenwood Park that have appealed their property taxes.

A group of residents came together and used a company called Equitax (the lawyers filed a collective appeal on behalf of homeowners). Their phone number is 404-351-5354.

They can come to an association meeting and make a presentation.

The deal they worked out for Glenwood Park was $195 per house plus 25% of the savings in the first year from lowered property tax.

I've emailed Carl the information just in case he wants to share it at tonight's meeting. If any of you are interested please email me so we can file a collective appeal. It's time to get our taxes to reflect the true property values in the Historic West End!

Take care,
Yomara

I believe that's what they paid Equitax-the company.
We can have one of their residents talk at our community association meeting to discuss how they did.

I am currently in my appeal process. I think this is a great idea to hire these people and have a collective appeal. We really need to organize and do it in West End.
That would be great if these people could come to the meeting. The only thing I wonder about is if I can still use them if I wanted to since I have already filed my appeal without any legal representation. The appeal deadline was 06/16/2008 so it is too late to start a new appeal this year.

I went thru the appeal process last year, so let me know if you have any unanswered questions.
